Integrated power supply (IPS)

Overview

What it does

The Statcon Energiaa SMPS-based integrated power supply (IPS) provides a complete power solution from one system for all signalling circuits in critical railway signalling applications.

It combines an FRBC (SMPS) panel, an AC distribution panel and a DC distribution panel, with hot-standby chargers and DC-DC converters and automatic changeover.

It is built to RDSO specification RDSO/SPN/165/2012 (version 3.0).

Applications

  • Critical railway signalling installations
  • Axle counters, point machines and internal/external relays
  • Signal relays and lamps

Certifications and standards

  • Built to RDSO/SPN/165/2012 (version 3.0)

Features

Why engineers choose it

  • Complete power solution from one system for all signalling circuits
  • Two chargers in hot standby, reducing maintenance
  • Each DC-DC converter supported with hot standby
  • Automatic changeover with minimal manual supervision
  • Continuous power to signal circuits for the rated battery backup time, even without DG or local supply
  • Single battery voltage level, improving battery life
  • Highly regulated voltage to all signal relays and lamps
  • Status panel in the ASM's room for the maintenance team
