Hybrid inverters

HBD three-phase hybrid inverter

Bi-directional 3-phase hybrid MPPT inverters, 5–250 kVA, for C&I sites, microgrids and cold storage.

5–250 kVA

HBD three-phase hybrid inverter

Overview

What it does

The HBD and ECO-HBD series are three-phase bi-directional hybrid MPPT inverters from 5 to 250 kVA.

A bi-directional active front end charges the batteries from solar or grid, exports surplus PV to the grid through net metering and supports BESS functions such as peak shaving and time-of-day shifting.

The ECO-HBD cold inverter variant adds VFD coupling for cold storage sites.

Applications

  • Process industries and mills
  • Telecom BTS sites
  • Cold storage
  • Microgrids
  • Hospitals, schools, offices, malls and commercial buildings
  • Banks/ATMs, petrol pumps, gyms, poultry farms and bungalows
  • Industrial peak shaving and avoiding sanctioned-load penalties

Certifications and standards

  • Grid export with anti-islanding protection

Features

Why engineers choose it

  • Active front end: low-distortion input current at unity power factor and grid export of surplus PV
  • BESS functions: peak load shaving, load levelling, voltage/frequency regulation and time-shifting
  • Scheduling by keypad or PLC, time-of-day tariff charging and programmable night-saving mode
  • Three priority modes: hybrid with export, hybrid without export, and off-grid
  • AC coupling with string inverters; works with wind, hydro and DG sets
  • Cold storage variant (ECO-HBD): VFD coupling at the DC end, controlled through a PLC
  • Up to 100% load imbalance on 3-phase models
  • Pure sine wave output with protection against grid fluctuation, overload, short circuit, reverse polarity and surge
