Industrial battery chargers and rectifiers
Thyristor-controlled battery chargers
Rugged thyristor-based battery chargers and rectifiers for DC power supply applications in utilities and industry.

Overview
What it does
Statcon Energiaa thyristor-controlled industrial battery chargers convert AC to DC to charge battery banks while supplying continuous DC loads.
They are available in natural-cooled and forced-cooled designs, with float, float-cum-boost, dual and redundant configurations.
Transformers are manufactured in-house and systems can be customised for special applications.
Applications
- Power generation
- Transmission and distribution
- Defence
- Telecom
- Oil and gas
- Railways
- Other industrial DC power supply applications
Certifications and standards
- Input harmonic filters on request, designed to IEEE 519-2022 current-distortion limits
Features
Why engineers choose it
- Float-cum-boost charger with dropper diodes
- Dual float-cum-boost, and float plus float-cum-boost (FC + FCBC) systems
- Multiple chargers with a redundant standby charger
- Control circuit on glass epoxy board with digital and analog circuit blocks
- High transient response under specified load and line variations
- Class-F rectifier transformer, made in-house
- Protections: AC under/over voltage, DC under/over voltage, overload, thyristor fuse, blocking diode, soft start, surge suppressor, short circuit
- Customisation for special application requirements
