Load banks and dischargers
Resistive load banks and dischargers
Controllable resistive load banks and closed-loop battery dischargers for testing power sources and discharging batteries.

Overview
What it does
Statcon Energiaa load banks apply a contained, controllable electrical load to a power source to test, support or protect it, mimicking the real operating load.
Resistive dischargers hold a constant discharge current through closed-loop feedback with no operator needed, supporting 24–220 V up to 2,000 A.
For larger testing, a modular, scalable MW-class AC/DC load bank system has been built with PLC and HMI control.
Applications
- Discharging batteries before the next charging cycle
- Load testing of alternators, generators and diesel generator sets
- Testing AC and DC sources at 50 Hz and 60 Hz
- Testing ships and submarines under AC and DC load at a naval dockyard
- Repair workshops and commercial and industrial buildings
- Load testing of electrolyser rectifiers
Features
Why engineers choose it
- Self-contained unit with load elements, control and accessory devices
- Constant discharge current via closed-loop feedback
- Resistive and inductive load testing of alternators and generators
- Modular, scalable twin-unit design: run as one 3,000 kW system (master/follower) or two independent units
- Comprehensive protection and alarm features
- Factory tested before dispatch, including a rain test
