Solar power for a cold store
A 150 kWp solar system supplements the grid supply to a 10,400-tonne cold store in an area of weak grid supply.
The challenge
What was needed
A cold store with 10,400 tonnes of capacity and an approved load of 250 kW runs three compressors of 150, 120 and 100 HP, in an area where the grid is weak and erratic.
The solution
What we built
Statcon Energiaa built a solar-based system with 150 kWp of solar modules to supplement the weak grid supply to the cold store. The project received a subsidy under a government horticulture development scheme.
